Estate Planning for Divorcing Individuals

Estate Planning is especially important for individuals who are going through or have just completed a divorce.  You are going through, or have been through a very difficult emotional time.  Your life has changed tremendously and all the things you thought were stable and unchangeable in life have just proven to be of no use to you.

More changes

There are issues you need to address now in Estate Planning.  For example, have you changed all the beneficiary designations on your insurance policies and retirement accounts?  If you have a Trust or a Will, you undoubtedly need to make changes in it.

And if you have not yet done any Estate Planning, this is the perfect time to begin it, as you begin your new life.  Yes, there will be changes down the road, so you need a plan that is flexible and one you can change as needed.  You also need to incorporate all the new life lessons you have learned into your plan.
